Events in Baška Through the Year
Baška is not only about beaches. From spring to autumn the town hosts festivals, sports events and summer celebrations – a great reason to plan your holiday around one of them. Here is an overview of the main events through the year.
Spring
Baška Rožica – flower festival (April)
Every April, around Easter, Baška blooms during the Baška Rožica flower festival: flower installations, local crafts and creative workshops for children and adults. Read more in our article about Baška Rožica.
4islands – mountain bike race (April)
In April Baška is the starting point of the international 4islands MTB stage race, which takes riders across Krk, Rab, Cres and Lošinj. More in our article about the 4 Islands race.

Summer
Crna Ovca Festival
In summer the Crna Ovca festival brings concerts by Croatian bands, dancing, local crafts and lamb specialities. More in our article about the Crna Ovca Festival.
Fishermen’s Days (end of July / beginning of August)
A three-day celebration of Baška’s fishing tradition on the old waterfront (Stara riva): free evening concerts, fried fish, mussels and other seafood, a boat parade, a demonstration of hauling a traditional fishing net at Vela plaža, fireworks over the sea and activities for children. Boat trips also run to the Buymer fishing museum.
BIG – Baška International Guitar festival (August)
In August Baška hosts an international guitar festival with concerts by guitarists from Croatia and abroad – a lovely way to spend a summer evening.

Autumn
Baška Outdoor Festival (October)
In October, three days of sport, nature and music: hiking, trail running, cycling, climbing and other outdoor activities with an excellent atmosphere. A perfect time to walk to the Moon Plateau or explore the trails around Baška.
All year round
Outside the festival dates Baška is ideal for walks and active holidays: the Camino Krk pilgrimage route, marked hiking and cycling trails, and of course the beaches of Baška.

- Book your accommodation early for festival weekends, especially in summer.
- Most events are free.
